The Anchor Lab is part of Glasgow’s ‘Creative Communities: Artists in Residence’ programme, which is a citywide project for Glasgow, employing an artist in residence for every community. We are the selected artists in residence for Glasgow’s Ward 12, which encompasses the Anniesland, Broomhill, Jordanhill, Partick West, Thornwood and Victoria Park neighbourhoods.
The scale of the project is unprecedented, commissioning 23 residencies in the 23 wards of Scotland’s largest city. In this, ‘Phase 2’, the chosen artists in residence will be delivering a range of creative activities and opportunities designed to meet the needs of their ward and those participating. The projects delivered have been shaped by feedback collected within the wards through artists during Phase 1, in 2019/20. Creative Communities: Artists in Residence is funded by Glasgow City Council and managed by Glasgow Life. This phase of Creative Communities: Artists in Residence has been devised – and may well be delivered – at a time when there are national restrictions in place to combat the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Related activity will follow Scottish Government guidelines at all times.
